Your otherwise watertight argument unfortunately fails on two counts:
1) We, the creators of The Greys, are both lifelong British citizens - and around here in rural Buckinghamshire, *everyone* talks like that
2) We did address the question of the spider's speech in the commentary on our website. The last of which reads: "In practice the spider adheres to the general Hollywood rule of thumb that evil nemeses are English – which is why he has the voice of Terry-Thomas." He's a Hollywood Englishman (Englishspider?), not a real one.
Those spider are like a "little" bigger than the ones over here...
