I suppose that is why you always send the MALP in first.
I'd assume that the stargate changes the orientation to be correct, simply because it waits for all the packets to be received before it lets the object out the other side.
In the commentary on our website I actually ask the question more with reference to Stargate: Atlantis, where puddle jumpers and wraith darts seem to enter orbiting gates at whatever angle is convenient at the time, yet they all come out the other end with the right orientation.
As for the MALP - you're right, which is why I've written the text to imply that the aliens have already had at least one visit by SG-1. As I recall they send the MALP through on the first trip, but usually don't bother for subsequent journeys to planets they think are safe.
But all of that is just over-thinking it really. When it boils down to it the stargate is just a convenient plot device, like the transporter is to Star Trek, and doesn't really stand up to any real analysis. Best to just enjoy it as a bit of fiction - though that doesn't mean we can't poke fun at it from time to time
